Let the First Steps Be Firmly Anchored:

Our Clear Path to Agricultural Transformation

The Agriculture & Commodities City project has six key objectives that guide its mission to transform Nigeria’s agricultural sector and enhance food production and processing. These objectives are

growth

Boost Farmer Productivity

The project aims to improve the productivity levels of small and medium-scale farmers by providing access to modern farming technologies, inputs, and training to increase crop and livestock yields.

value

Add Value to Crops and Livestock

It focuses on boosting value addition in crops and animal products through agro-processing industries established within the project’s processing zones, thereby increasing farmers’ incomes and market competitiveness.

empower

Empower Women and Youth

At least 55% of direct beneficiaries are targeted to be women and youth, ensuring that the project fosters inclusive economic growth and empowers marginalized groups in rural communities.

infrastructure

Build Farming Infrastructure

The project includes building farm access roads, rural energy supply, jetties, market structures, and aggregation centers to facilitate efficient production, processing, and marketing of agricultural commodities.

unity

Unite Farmers Through Cooperatives

By organizing farmers into cooperatives and clusters, the project enhances collective bargaining power, access to finance, inputs, and markets, thus improving farmers’ livelihoods and sustainability.

flower

Make Nigeria a Food Export Leader

The overarching goal is to transform Nigeria into a net food exporter by feeding the nation, Africa, and global markets, leveraging strategic locations in the North and South to create modern agricultural hubs and processing centers.

Our Proven Three-Step Plan

The company’s three-step plan to accomplish its agricultural transformation goals can be summarized as follows:

01

Develop Agricultural Value Chains and Processing Zones

The first step focuses on establishing staple crop processing zones (SCPZs) and developing value chains for priority commodities such as rice, cassava, sorghum, cocoa, cotton, maize, and livestock. This includes improving production, processing, and market linkages to add value and reduce post-harvest losses, thereby increasing farmers' incomes and competitiveness

02

Build Infrastructure and Enhance Access to Inputs and Finance

The second step involves rehabilitating and expanding rural infrastructure such as farm access roads, energy supply, and market facilities. It also includes improving access to quality inputs like seeds and fertilizers through private sector-led distribution supported by smart subsidies, and facilitating farmers' access to financial services and markets to stimulate commercial agriculture

03

Empower Farmers, Especially Women and Youth, through Inclusive Programs

The third step prioritizes empowering rural communities by targeting women, youth, and farmers' associations with training, cooperative development, and institutional strengthening. This inclusive approach aims to create jobs, boost productivity, and ensure sustainable growth by integrating smallholder farmers into commercial agriculture and value chains
